Posting Description Template for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central 

It is not possible to use standard definitions for the descriptions of journal vouchers posted in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Users manually specify the journal voucher descriptions in the created documents. However, manually writing the descriptions in multiple data entries wastes time for users.

Posting description templates are the section where the format in which the general journal description will be created on the basis of document types is defined. As a result of the definitions made, the description of the journal resulting from the postings made from the documents is automatically created according to the definition made.

Posting description templates standardize the explanations of the resulting general ledger entries and provide convenience to the users when examining the accounting records.
